- More feed – less nitrogen better animal performance = increased profitablity
Grazing Management
Tetraploid ryegrasses are highly palatable and therefore more susceptible to overgrazing. It’s important to carefully monitor grazing pressure, as grazing them too closely—more so than diploid ryegrasses—can reduce their persistence. Like diploids, tetraploid ryegrasses also require adequate nitrogen applications to support strong regrowth after grazing.
Benefits of Reseeding Grass
Reseeding is one of the most profitable investments a livestock farmer can make. It leads to significantly higher grass dry matter yields and improves overall grass quality. For every additional tonne of grass dry matter utilized, farm profits can increase by up to €160. On average, reseeding can boost grass production by at least 10% annually, enhancing both productivity and profitability on the farm.
